The Hitchcock Automatic is built from our iconic 43mm P-51 Mustang inspired case, featuring a crown guard echoing the engine exhaust of the aircraft. With a beautifully contoured shape, it has been designed to look and feel comfortable.

In a tribute to Hitchcock's heroics outside the cockpit, the case back features the words "Ten Goal Tommy," referencing Tommy Hitchcock's 10-goal handicap in polo.

Plenty of watch for not a lot of cash

I wouldn't normally have looked twice at a watch at this price point, being more used to wearing Bremont, Breitling, Ball etc. The design caught my eye in a magazine however and there's loads to like. For the price overall quality is good. I like the Panerai-esque sandwich dial. The distressed blueing is also done really well. Movement accuracy was never going to be COSC standard and +10 secs per day is fine. Case finishing is a bit strange; the bezel, crown guard and the lug faces are brushed but the side of the case is polished. Padded leather strap is decent. The only thing that lets the watch down is the crystal. It's the one aspect that screams 'cheap watch'. It refracts really badly at an angle in a way that none of my 'decent' watches do. The AR coating is also poor and fails in its one purpose; it doesn't stop reflections and the face is unreadable under certain light conditions. Overall though, it's a stylish and striking aviation watch that looks more expensive than it is (as long as you're not looking at an angle).

Stunning

As usual a great looking timepiece from Avi-8, I now have over 20 in my collection and am always complimented on them whenever I wear them.

Overall a nice watch

It’s been a great watch. The leather band is quality. It keeps time well for a mechanical watch. Drift for me has been about 15 sec over a week or two. The crystal is very nice. I’ve had people ask me if it’s even there because they can’t see it. For those new to automatics, just wearing to work at a desk job is not enough to keep it wound so I need to wind it some daily. It is a big watch an heavier than my running watch but got used to it quickly. The face is really nice and easy to read like a pilot’s watch should be. Overall I’m happy I bought it and it’s all the stylish watch you see in the pictures.

Simply outstanding

I absolutely love this timepiece. Outstanding quality made all the better by the historic inspiration behind this modern watch. This is my 3rd Avi8 watch and I’m thrilled with it.
